TAANZ CEO: Andrew Olsen
The Travel Agents Association of New Zealand (TAANZ) is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Olsen as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Andrew formally started his role on 5 March after spending a week reviewing the organisation's position and objectives in consultation with the Board.
"Andrew joins TAANZ following his successful tenure as General Manager at Carlson Wagonlit New Zealand. He brings extensive industry experience and enthusiasm to the role," says Peter.
Andrew's position is dedicated to TAANZ, the first time the Association has had a stand-alone chief executive in more than three decades.
Andrew works with the TAANZ board to ensure the Association provides value for members. He is also focused on raising the TAANZ profile. This includes strengthening TAANZ’s lobbying activities and successes, and proactively presenting an articulate and expert view of the industry and members’ views in the media.
Andrew actively engages with members to understand what TAANZ can do for them, and looks for viable ways to extend and grow the membership.
Andrew joined TAANZ in March 2011. He brings more than 12 years at the sharp end of the corporate travel game to the role, most recently as General Manager of Carlson Wagonlit New Zealand.
Originally from Sydney’s beachside suburbs, Andrew moved to New Zealand in the mid-90s. A keen family man, he’s also a surfer from way back, and likes nothing better than riding the waves on the Wairarapa coast.
